My teaching style

I break down complex concepts into manageable steps to ensure that students understand the foundations before moving on. Additionally, I incorporate interactive activities, discussions, and real-world examples that make learning meaningful and memorable. This balance of clarity, support, and engagement creates a classroom environment where my students feel confident, motivated, and excited to learn.

Addressing parents' concerns

Parents often worry about their child falling behind or struggling with difficult math concepts. I understand these concerns and tailor my approach to address each student's unique needs. I provide clear explanations, ample practice opportunities, and continuous support to ensure that students not only understand the material but also build confidence in their abilities.

A success story

This year, I worked with a student who struggled with word problems and often shut down because they “weren’t a math person.” I started by modeling a simple, structured problem-solving routine then practiced it with the student using familiar, real-life examples. As they became more comfortable, I gradually increased the challenge and had them explain their reasoning out loud. Within a few weeks, the student not only improved their accuracy but also began approaching problems with more confidence, saying, “I think I can figure this out now.”
